The Boost-Your-Language principles
Practical approach
Language learning should be practical and relevant to the daily lives and interests of each student. We don’t want students to get bogged down in traditional, overly theoretical methods.
The lessons are a mix of practice with grammar, reading, vocabulary building and pronunciation. The focus is not just on theory, but mostly on how to apply it in everyday life.
In each class, we reflect on the homework and work on areas for improvement.
Personal attention
Personal attention is key to our method of successful language learning. Because of our one-on-one or small group approach, we are able to give a lot of attention to each student.
We want to understand your needs and tailor the lessons to your specific interests. Whether you’re an engineer eager to dive into industry-specific vocabulary or have other learning goals, we can adapt to that.
This personalized approach keeps the lessons interesting and creates a personal relationship between the teacher and the student.
Fast progression
Because of the practical approach we have towards language learning, and because we can give personal attention to each student, it is possible to reach a B2 level in six months. To reach a B2 level in six months, motivation from the student is necessary.
Flexible scheduling
We work entirely online, you can join our classes no matter where you are in the world. We understand that life can be busy, so we are committed to adapt to your schedule .
What progress will you make?
Week 1
In the first weeks, we introduce the students to our learning method. We work on common pronunciation difficulties and learn how to introduce ourselves. We continue with verb conjugation and making small sentences, which we do in different ways. We teach verb tenses interactively, and they will be revisited throughout the learning process. The four main elements are listening, reading, writing, and speaking. We work on all elements every week and put extra focus on an element when needed. Later in A1, we expand vocabulary with your personalized assignments. We try to focus first on the vocabulary you need the most for your goals! By the end of A1, students are able to communicate about familiar topics in a simple way and understand short conversations about everyday life in the present tense with people who speak slowly and clearly.
1 Month
After finishing A1 we continue with expanding vocab. These we do working with all four parts of learning, focussing on the goals of the student. We start working with past time tenses, since in A2 we work towards having day to day conversations and assignments that are looking at events that have occured. As well we focus on bits of grammar as adjectives and articles. Further we have a look at the numbers, working with this in an interactive way like making appointments and scheduling meetings.
3 Months
6 Months
At the B2 level, you learn to construct complex sentences with multiple clauses and use advanced verb tenses, including the subjunctive mood. Your vocabulary expands significantly, including idiomatic expressions and nuanced word choices. You develop skills to express and defend opinions in discussions and debates, using both formal and informal language. There’s a focus on analyzing and summarizing complex texts, such as essays and news articles. Finally, you enhance your listening comprehension, understanding different accents and more complex media content.
